Update on looking for 2015/2016 S550

Hi all,

I posted recently that I was looking for a 2015/2016 S-Class with a budget of $85k. I've received some very good input so far from this forum and want to give a little more info based on my visit to the dealership today. They had a new to their lot 2016 S550 4Matic with 12000 miles on it. They wanted $103k out the door with one year of CPO added to the warranty. This is obviously above my budget but is a nice car and my wife gave me that smile only a wife can give you when you are thinking of blowing up your original budget. Haven't made up my mind but thought you could tell me if this is a good deal or not. Lots of options but any I should consider that are missing if I pass on this car? Thanks as always for your help...it is much appreciated.

Lastly, I was looking to purchase in January and they were willing to help with that...get car now and pay then. They know me so no concern on their part. Anyway, here's the car:

Car: S550OV4 $98,650

The options include:
801 Back Leather Napa $2290
PO1 Premium 1 Package $4500
086 Wheel Locking Bolts $140
104 Rear Deck Spoiler $500
137 Comfort Box $350
289 Wood/Leather Steering Wheel
321 Sports Package w/ AMG Wheels and Sport Body Styling $5900
325 Rear Seat Package $3000
445 Warmth and Comfort Package $2600
463 Heads-Up Display $990
501 Surround View Camera $900
51U Black Cloth Headliner
729 Black Poplar Wood Trim
769 AMG Multi-Spoke Wheels $750
810 Burmeister Surround Sound System (awesome sound, no need for the upgrade for me)
997 Driver Assistance Package $2800

Subtotal: $123,370 plus $925 destination and delivery for a total of $124, 295

I wouldn't do it, it's a well used vehicle

If you close a deal at year end, you should be able to get a new car for the same price

If this includes taxes, tags and title you are right in the ballpark of a mid year 2016 new. I just picked up a similarly equipped 2017 for $106k plus taxes, tag and title. Car was even shipped in from Utah. I started off looking at 2016's and found that you could get $20k off sticker. This unit can be had for $100,305 - http://www.mbcincy.com/inventory/new...ug8fb3ga235572 similar options as the one you have listed minus the HUD and a couple others. Well optioned for sure.

I had the deal ready to go but they neglected to tell me it had ~900 miles on it until two days before I was flying in to pick it up. Went to the local MB dealer and showed the deal sheet to them and they came in at $15,000k off a new 2017 so I jumped at it.

It's the season and deals can be had!
