SatNav / NAVI - POI format
Hi,
When importing POI files to your car (e.g. Safety cameras, favourite Restaurants, etc) it may not work, if the format is not exactly what your version of the Satnav is expecting. Problems like this hit me when I was downloading paid-for POI files from reputable sources for modern Mercedes (2013-) but they were not recognised or viewable on my car, so began an often frustrating, multiple-hour journey of research and testing to get POI import working properly.
To help others both create or adapt POI files you'd like to import or to debug POI issues with POI files, I'm sharing the standard POI format created by my* W222, which I believe is NTG 5*2.
I also have quite a bit of experience now with POI importing, capabilities and limitations with POI icons, etc, so if you have any questions I'll be happy to try my best to answer them.

C-class Estate c300h 2016
POI Import into COMAND NTG 5*2
Hi. I've just purchased a 2016 C-class c300h estate with COMAND NTG 5*2 and Garmin Map Pilot. I am trying to load speed camera data. I've been sent a sample .gpx file from scdb.info and have used Garmin POILoader to generate a .gpi file which I've put into GARMIN/POI/ on the Mercedes GARMIN SD card. From what I've read, this should work but it does not. Reading your post, I suspect the file format is not 100% correct. I've attached the file I was given & wondered if you could have a look at it?
