Pulling the trigger!!!!!
Im new here guys!! I made a thread about going from an A7 to an s550. I finally found the right car...am I getting a good deal??? 35k miles fully loaded 2015 including designo seats..
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW is what am I looking st for issues @ 35-50k Miles... weigh in!!

UGH! i have been wrestling with that every day since I financed my A7!!! I feel like I made a mistake getting tire rim warranty and the extended bumper to bumper wArranty! The s class is certified so I was planning to see how it held up and then when it's time for the manufacturer to end I would buy an extended warranty!!

Yes, absolutely 100% get the extended warranty. Parts and fixing MBs as they get older (especially the 4matic system and suspension) is very expensive.

Funny, I started this thread in may when I was on the fence about moving to an S class. Fast forward to now, I am FINALLY making the decision to get out of my A7 and into a 2015 s550 I am excited to take delivery on Thursday of this week!

I just swapped my cpo w221 s class, to a 15 cpo s 550, mine has almost 3 years almost 2 left on factory then 1 more from the cpo. Ill decide b4 its up if I still want to keep it. so far great car.

nice, great pickup. I will have one year left on factory and 1 from CPO. Got the CPO event special so maintenance free for 2 services. Pretty stoked to pick it up .

The 2 services is sweet... when was that event? I had it on my last one and I got the plugs changed which was pretty nice. I then sold the car 2 mos later so prb didnt matter! lol

I just bought a cpo 2015 S550 loaded on Saturday. I actually just came out of a 2013 cpo car myself. I would take the opportunity and buy an extra year of the mercedes cpo warranty while you can. It ran 2900.00 for an extra year.

the #1 reason for the switch is wanting a bigger more luxurious car. I have gotten a bit tired of the coupe style cars and just ready for a “boss” car so to speak haha. But in all honesty the refinement and interior of the s class is top notch. Feature wise, both pretty much the same...only additional tech feature the S class would have over my A7 would be the active park assist, a more involved adaptive cruise control system and that’s probably about it. Love the A7 great ride and a definite attention grabber, but I have been eying the S class for some time, and finally made the decision to make the jump! I also do quite a bit of highway travel...and well, air suspension, S class ride in general....you cant beat it.

If there is a documentation of regular service, I would not worry about anything and I would decline the extended CPO warranty. That's from experience of owning a trouble free car. At 50K, I changed the transmission fluid/filter, rear diff fluid, coolant, and magic body control (active body control) hydraulic fluid and filter at home. The W222 is probably one of the least problem-ridden luxury sedans on the market and odds of you needing a CPO warranty in the next two years are extremely low.
Pre-paid service might be worthwhile as the dealer will probably swap the spark plugs at 50K and change wiper blades every other service and tranny service is usually at 70K (you may not get to it). If you have the Magic Vision Control wiper, that's about 250 bucks in wiper cost alone. If you don't wrench on your own car, I don't think you save much from going to a third party German car mechanic.
