extended warranty for low mileage driver

My 2014 s550 will have about 15K on it when it goes off warranty. Normally I never have enough issues to ever worry about extended warranties but wondering if the over complicated newer vehicles should cause me to rethink. Typically a warranty is priced assuming much higher annual mileage than what I drive so wondering if there are decent options given the reduced liklihood of problems. Dave

I am in the same situation....2015 S550 with about 9k miles on it. What did you end up doing?

If you decide to go with a third party warranty, ask your local Mercedes dealer service department about their experience with various companies. Only consider those that your dealer has good relations with.

You will end up paying them (insurance) to fix the car (plus their profit) buying extended insurance. So, on average you will pay more that if you just paid for the fixes yourself.

Wow, low miles! Drive that thing! Get your money's worth! I'm out of warranty in April of next year.....at which time I will probably trade it for something other than Mercedes Benz. I've been trying to get to 50K before the warranty, but it's tough. I got an extended warranty for my AMG and have not even needed it.......and it wasn't inexpensive either.

I talked to my service adviser and surprisingly she recommended not getting the extended warranty in light of my very low mileage driving.
