I am in market for a 2014 or 2015 S 550.
For some reason I am fixated on having the reclining back seats even though it is my daily driver.
The only one i could find with the reclining seats is this ruby black. The color seems a bit confusing. is it brown? is it purple? is it black?
Your thoughts on the ruby black color for a guy using it as a daily driver and these wheels?
Ugly or nice? Thoughts on the wheels?
Any input is helpful.
I ordered Ruby Black on my '16 S550 4matic. You will find people with different opinions but I think it is the best color on the S550. It is traditional black at night but in direct sunlight outside it is a redish brown (alittle more red than brown). You call it confusing I call it interesting/awesome. I have all the traditional colors on my S Class cars and this one is great and different (my '14 S550 was Obsidian Black so I like traditional black but Ruby Black is a head turner).
I have inserted a picture of my Ruby Black. Just love the color.
My Verde Brook Metallic 2015 S550 looks black at night, and depending on how the light hits it, brown or green in daylight. Never boring. And I'm not a fan of dark colored cars, but this one seems to work!

Verde Brook is an AMAZING color. Of course, like so many great colors, MB has dropped it.
I love that color combination. It's actually my favorite. But I'm partial as the attached is what my Dad's first Mercedes looked like sans the light color roof.
I think that it is a very royal looking combination.
Like the wheels also.
Having said that it's my favorite it isn't everybodies so if you are buying that be aware of the potential impact on resale and you should accordingly be able to negotiate a good deal.

I was hesitant at first on the color. I can't tell you how many compliments I receive on my car. I have the red calipers and black AMG wheels so it comes together nicely. It is a unique color that plays tricks on you during different parts of the day.
I have this color with Porcelain seats. I was nervous about it when I ordered it. I get a lot of compliments on the color. I call it "Black Cherry" because it reminds me of that soda.

I have had my car since December, 2014 and am still happy I picked this color over any of the others. I did get the 19" wheels as I preferred them to the standard ones although I would have preferred 18 to 19" tires.
