Buddy at my local shop did it. He didn't want to charge but I slipped him $100. lol I figure most shops would charge around $200 to $300. (It's not that hard but they'll say it was because it's a S class. lol) They retract and rotate just like OEM(Test drove a W22 with 3-D before buying mine) And the colors sync up perfect with the ambient lighting! They are noticeably louder and a little bit brighter than the stock tweeters! Hope that helped!
That radar detector won't work well there. The windshield blocks gigahertz frequencies. The owners manual shows a couple of "holes" in the shielding where you can put a radar detector or fast pass type item.

I have my V1 installed here peeking through gap in windshield film and it works fine forward facing. Rear facing sensor is diminished though due to coating on back window. Back on topic - I also have the High End 3D Burmester audio and while I also wouldn't have spec'd it if I bought the car new I now love it and would absolutely pay for it in my next car.
According to the owners manual that's not an opening.. Left of the rear view and lower center. are the only two openings.
