Wheel Clicking Noise - Fixed

Thought sharing this might help others. Loud metallic clicking/clacking noise when turning left or right. Turns out to be a front wheel center cap (inner o-ring was loose). The dealer ordered a new front axle after 3 hours of diagnosis. I pushed back for several hours since my new AMG only had 800 miles, which resulted in the center cap fix.

Can you explain what center cap? The one that covers the lugs?

Dealer replaced multiple parts to fix my noise. Hubs, bearings, shock, and finally the axle which I think fixed it.

Don't know what year and model you have, so I don't know if it covers your lugs. On mine the cap is ~3 inches wide. Easy test is to take off the center cap(s) and drive it. If the noise is gone, the center cap was the problem...that's what I did.

Thanks for your update , I honestly would not have thought a wheel cap could have thrown a noise that was loud enough to disturb your unmatched S Class driving experience
