I had a 1978 930 Turbo. Listed 0 to 60 time was 4.9 seconds. I remember driving it away from the dealership and being very careful not to jump on it. There was all this hype about the car accelerating like a rocket, so I took it out on Pershing Dr., behind the runways at LAX, late at night. I came to a full stop and then hit it. No big deal. I thought it was going to make my eyeballs recede into my skull, but as I remember it, it just wasn’t all that great. I guess it was the fact that it was very quick, without any drama. Do the same thing in a late 60’s 427 Corvette and there was LOTS of drama!
