Port Wait Time

Folks, another order question for you all. For those of you who ordered your vehicles from the factory, what was your wait time at the port? It looks like after an expedited build schedule, my vehicle is stuck at the port for the last 7-8 days. It moved to B7 (at port) on 3/3/18, and to B8 (assigned to ship) status on 3/8/18, but still no word on which ship, when etc. What is the experience on this topic?

Thanks in advance.

Depending on the ship and their schedule a 7-10 wait for the ship to leave the port is not unusual. The average automotive transport ship carries 5,500 autos but there is a super carrier now that carries 8,500. Loading and unloading takes time though they drive the day lights out of the cars both onto and off. I watched some BMW's being offloaded at the Port of Houston, Texas last year and cringed at all the wheel squeeling and how fast they were driven down the main ramp.

My new 2018 took 4 days to get to the dealer after the ship docked.

Of course, every now and then, one of the cars gets a bit banged up and needs to be “fixed.” Hope this is not the case with yours.

Sorry I was not clear, my question was about the wait time at the port in Germany, before the vehicle gets on the ship. It is easier to track after the ship gets docked in the US, and you are right, roughly about a week or less after that (on the west coast).

But yes, there could be a damage issue in Germany as well, and that is what I am trying to figure out (not that I can do anything about it). Hence trying to figure out if 7-9 days of wait time is abnormal or not.

Although I think such damage is still addressed in the VPCs in the US, as opposed to at the port in Bremerhaven, but I may be wrong...

Well, just to provide closure, apparently the ship my vehicle is on left Bremerhaven on 3/10, which is 7 days after arriving at port. Which I am happy with as the delivery is to the west coast, and the ships to WC are not as frequent...Should dock in Long Beach on 4/5.
