OT, truly a sign of the times, sedans losing out to SUVs...

"DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. on Wednesday said it plans to stop selling all sedans in North America and that it has nearly doubled its cost-cutting target by 2022 from the plan it laid out only six months ago. The automaker said it will either fix or eliminate unprofitable portions of the business.

Ford said the only cars it will keep in North America beyond their current generations are the Mustang and the Focus Active arriving in 2019." --full article

It's the sign of the times. For reasons beyond my understanding, people flock to SUV's. Even convertibles like our SL sell less not because of competition with other roadsters but SUV's! Just crazy.

I realize the benefits of more space but beyond that I find SUV designs significantly less attractive than sedans, coupes or roadsters. Worst yet, SUV coupes. It's a potato on wheels with the interior space of a small sedan. There are some SUV's I like, for example the Ranger Rovers but I unless I would have some large dogs to take along, a sedan would be my better choice.
But I get it. People like them and are willing to pay for them. Highest margin models in the business are trucks (SUV's).

End of rant

Did Ford just realize that ? lol
GM stopped making decent cars to be able to manufacture more SUVs way before that
Honestly, I'm not a SUV guy though
