What color was your F10?
You guys are making me want to get rid of my X5 M Sport with the same n63 engine. It only had 60k miles but has started to burn some oil although still well within what BMW says is normal.

What is the rate of the burn? If you have to top it off every 5K miles or less, then it could be within limits, but it is time to dump... Sorry...

I probably have to put a quart in between oil changes but this has recently started in the past year or so. Let BMW tell it a qt every 750 miles is normal lol.

Hate to get rid of it has been a great vehicle.

Yup, it is a function of engine age as well. 750 mile interval is BS obviously. For me, for the last two years, I had to top it off between oil changes; the first one literally was a week before the scheduled one year oil change (with may be 1K more miles to spare on the indicator), and the second one was 2.5K miles before the due oil change. So it was gradually getting worse. I am sure it would get to a point where I would have ended up having to top off mid cycle first, and then more than once in a year.... Sad, but, I think you are getting there...

On the flip side, it is a very easy and cheap thing to do, so one can be OK with that too...

Adding oil isnt a big concern i just dont want to have a catastrophic failure and be left with a paperweight bc i will not put 10k to fix it.

Love your new S class. I really like the color!

Ok guys....if you love Black but don't like the dust problem, try the color "Black Pearl" or aka Magnentite Black Melallic. It is an unusual color but very sparkly in the sun or light. Oh...you can call me Captain Jack Sparrow.

The metallic pops in the sunlight and looks dark and elegant at night, easier to keep clean than black.

I’d say absolute worst case, wrap the car for about $2k or so...

Yup, the drivetrain malfunction message was what I was hoping I would never see, and I turned out to be lucky. Anything can happen at any time with that engine. It is like a grenade with the pin pulled. The only thing you can do is to take good care of it, which is only going to delay the inevitable.

Thank you for the compliment .

Very pretty, drive in good health. If I had not seen the badge, I would have said it is brand new, it is very well taken care of. What year is it?

I just picked up a nearly identical car - 2017 S550, selenite gray, crystal gray/seashell gray interior with the metallized wood trim. It was a dealer demo with 3,000 miles. I really love it and get lots of compliments, especially on the interior.

Do you have any take (or is it too early to ask) on the maintenance associated with that light of an interior trim? With me, that was not an option, as I pretty much failed on properly maintaining my oyster/black interior on my F10. And that would have been much more forgiving than what I am looking at in the pictures, as the footwell is all black, and the oyster is a bit darker compared to this color combo... I hope (for you) that this one is easier to maintain.

That is why I had to get the black exclusive nappa on mine... Once burnt, twice shy...

Too early for me on the light interior maintenance but I am good on keeping my cars clean and detailed so we will see, also I am coming from a light interior without issue.
