brake pads 11/32 at only 1300 miles

I recently purchased a 2014 S550, CPO. Before taking possession of the car the dealer replaced breaks at all 4 corners.
After 1349 miles the "check break pad for wear" notice came up on the dash.
Took it back to dealer, the informed me that one of the rear sensors had come lose. They put if back and problem solved.
On the service ticket there was a notation that they measured pads and it was 11/32. If that is what is left on the pads that would mean that I will only get about 2000 miles out of a set of pads.
Can someone please enlighten me on what the measurement means before I go raise hell at the dealership. Also, how likely is it that the sensor just came lose?
I am bringing the car back next week for an unrelated issue and would like to have some help before then.

Thanks

That thickness (depending on front or rear with front having a bit more thickness generally) means the pads are almost new so I think you may be mixing something up. You are in good shape at 1349 miles on the pads since that thickness is about the new thickness.

MTrauman, Thanks for the info. Being a carpenter for many years and not a mechanic the measurement noted threw me off, in my mind it would mean only 1/3 of the pad remained. I did just go and look and there is plenty of meat on there. I didn't realize how much I could see of the pads with the type of wheels I have.

Have a great weekend!

I wonder if they were discussing the thickness of the rotors?
