15-17 S550e Battery Problem
Driving one day and a check battery light comes on. Took it straight to the dealer so they can sort it out. Service guy calls me back about 2 days later letting me know there were some codes and problems with the electric trunk battery. Couple days later he informs me that my battery was faulty? and they are getting a brand new replacement. (Btw I only charge after I fully drain the battery to 5 or 10%) He said there could also be problems with the lines going from the battery to the charge port. It is a Telsa battery. We supply Tesla with steering column stocks and they supply us with batteries. Have been enjoying a 2018 E300 they gave me with 680 miles and probably going to return it with over 1000. Told me about replacing the battery yesterday so it should be another 3-4 days. Warranty is forever a life saver. This would have been a pricey repair $$$ without it. Just thought I'd let the very few S550e owners out know there about this.

Thank you for posting this. I really like the idea of the plugin S Class but they scare the **** out of me relative to the hybrid components. On the W221 S400's the battery replacement costs approached the residual value of the car and rendered the car virtually worthless unrepaired.
