Ok, here is an E-Bay offer and the style is current. What is your opinion etc. The seller says that they are made for the S550 and clear the brake calipers. He also said that the Mfg. was Stuttgart, but I can not verify this.

I have bought cheap aftermarket wheels from eBay in the past, you should be fine. More than likely just china manufactured copies. Not sure if I would buy these for a S class and how they would look in 18inch.
Thanks for the reply......you are correct in that they are made in China but according to the seller, they stick to Stuttgart specs. And they would look just fine as an 18" wheel....I just question the quality even though they give a 3 year structural warranty and a 1 year finish warranty ( not too far off from the big guys ). He could not give me the weight of the wheel or the load (weight) specs. [see the E-Bay ad above]

There are usually several sets of MB OEM wheels available for sale. There is no way I would put wheels made in China on ANY car. The Chinese cut corners on most everything. I would not chance my safety on something as critical as wheels. My advice is to stick with MB wheels.

Ha-ha, you got me! Let’s just say that if MB stands behind the wheels, that’s good enough for me and I think anyone would agree, much more reassuring than words of “guarantees” in an eBay listing. However, I highly doubt that MB is using Chinese made wheels on their S Class. Originally Posted by Socalsteve
