S450
Anyone know why it is called the S450? My understanding is that it's the M276 engine which is a 6 cylinder 3 or 3.5L engine (IDK), which is also found on say, the GLK350.
If it is the same engine (for 2019), anyone know why they called it the S450? What am I missing?
Bonus points if you know the actual variant. E.g. M276.xxx

In addition, they may used the same engine but have different boost pressure from the use of turbos. For example, the S560 and the S63 are the same engine with different HP from techno adjustments. As the use of turbos have become more common place, the displacement of the engines really don’t tell us the power of the engines anymore like the good old days. Wait for the wave of electrification—no displacement just electric with batteries. Like I said—marketing.

Also 362 hp, but 384 lb/ft of torque, versus whatever the torque number is on the S class (it's not 384). So yeah I presume it's a tuning difference.

M276 refers to (oddly) two completely different engines. The first M276 (3.5L naturally aspirated) was used in recent "350" variants of multiple models. The now current M276 (3L twin turbo charged) is in the 400 and 450 variants, ranging between 329hp and 367hp. Same latter engine, different tune, no other real differences.

Are there any major known problems with the current M276 (3L twin turbo charged?)

No major issues that I am aware of for M276 DELA (3L) which has been in use in the US at least since 2015 in the C/E400, and currently in S450. (Note that the 2017 on E43 AMG uses the same engine with bigger turbos making 396hp).
