NICE! New for 2019? or 2018?

I know a lot of folks have been complaining here about the awful 3G WiFi and rightfully so. I don't know exactly when the 4G LTE became available but I think it was quite recently.

It was 2017, if I'm not mistaken.
2019, Mercedes Benz has transitioned from Verizon to AT&T for wifi. This should be interesting on 2 fronts because Verizon Connect fka Telematics which is in charge of Mbrace, I wonder, if they are planning to transition Mbrace to AT&T and SiriusXM? Other thing is that the AT&T offers wifi for $20 so I wonder if Mercedes will change their pricing for wifi now.

Well folks, I finally picked up my 2019 S450 yesterday. I have not had a chance to play around and learn all the features yet, but my first impression is that this car is awesome. There is SO MUCH to learn. For example, it took me "forever" to figure out how to activate Apple Car Play. I finally figured out that the USB cable needs to be plugged into the second port from the left and not the first. I love the upgraded Distrinic Driver Assistance package. One of the amazing things about it is that the car automatically slows down when you are about to enter a roundabout. I even like the fact that the car slows down by itself when one is about to make a turn and the turn signal is initiated. The car is very quiet and extremely comfortable. I was hoping that my car would be equipped with Bridgestone Turanza RFT's and I got my wish. I honestly think that these tires are more comfortable that the previous RFT Turanzas I had on the 2014 S550. Maybe the suspension is improved on this car and that's why I don't seem to feel the bumps on the road as much. I'm also pleasantly surprised that the trunk space seems to be just as big as the S550. I thought I was going to lose the opening in the rear of the trunk but it's there. In fact, the space seems like it's a couple inches wider from bottom to top.
The HUD may not be the best display in any car, but it is still very nice and useful. I always have it turned on. I'm amazed of the accuracy of the speed limit display on the various roads. I often wonder what the speed limit is on various roads, but I no longer need to worry with this car. I have not had a chance to play around with the Night Vision Assist yet, but I'm hoping it's a bit of an upgrade from the 2014.
I need to play around some more with the Dynamic Cruise but from what I experienced so far, I like it a lot. It took me a while to learn how to use it. I kept pushing the "speed set" toggle on the steering wheel after coming to a complete stop instead of the "resume" toggle. The tiny touch pads on either side of the steering wheel are pretty easy to use and I like them.
As far as the 3.0 liter by-turbo engine is concerned, as I had suspected, it has more than enough power for me and it is very quiet. I'm being careful not to accelerate very fast during the break-in period (1,000 miles). I will have more to say and hopefully show a few photos in several days. It has been raining here off and on since I picked up the car around Noon yesterday. It's a shame that the car got a little dirty because of the rainy weather right after I picked it up.

congrats! I’m glad to hear you’ve taken delivery of your 2019 as it gives me hope that I’ll be getting mine soon as well. I placed my order on June 5th, my car arrived at the VPC at Port of Brunswick 3 weeks ago and has been ready to ship since then. My dealership is telling me that Mercedes isn’t releasing 2019’s yet and not to expect it until late October at best. Seeing as you have yours I can’t help but wonder why I’m getting this story. Ugh. End rant.

I just read their comment after posting. Mine is a 560 as well. My salesman said that he called the VPC directly and was told that Mercedes has put a hold on releasing the 19’s until then. I certainly hope he’s wrong!

I don't know if he is "officially" wrong, but my local dealer has about 7 2019 S560 4Matics for sale, along with a couple of S450's and 1 lone 2018.

Must vary by market I guess? I ordered mine because they couldn’t find anything available in any dealer stock that matched what I was looking for. And all I wanted was black/black with the sport package, nothing crazy. Oh well.. I guess it’ll be here soon enough!

I have come to the conclusion that the enhanced "go" feature only works on certain roads. I think the road needs to have two lanes on each side of the isle and the feature works all the time when stopped with a car in front. Last evening, when I was driving to the tennis courts where I play Monday evenings, it was working perfectly after stopping at red lights and the car in front started to move. You folks living in very populated areas like CA, etc., most of the roads meet the requirements in stop and go traffic and the feature always works. In these cases, the little car symbol flashes green as soon as you stop as it counts toward 30 seconds.

Some dealers may have decided to list the 19 560s for sale but they cannot actually sell them until MBUSA releases them. My guess is they are getting a head start by listing them on their website. The release is usually national in scope. Of course this is only a guess on my part but that is what my experience leads me to believe.
