Well that is great. I am glad to hear when someone finds a car that fits them. Everyone's body shape and size is different ...... i gave my opinion on here based on ME. I don't know why there are people that insist on arguing with me that S-Class seats don't fit the healthiest seating position for my body. But i guess that's just the world we live in now ........ no one can handle an opinion 🤦🏼♂️

Obviously you don’t like the S class seats. But come on! You herniated a disk because of the seats and the seats are probably causing the need for back surgery. WOW! You are full of it. With that said I love my S Class seats and my wife does not like the seats.
So I can understand that some people, like my wife, may not like the S Class seats but you have to be full of it or seriously exaggerating that they caused you to require back surgery. That’s a good one.

i know this post is old but just wanted to comment. I owned a 2017 S550 for a year.... it destroyed my lower back .... im 45 yrs old and never had lower lumbar problems ..... the S class seats force you to sit in the worst posture possible with NO lower back support ... creating pressure directly on the bottom disks in your back. I got rid of it and bought another range rover .... i could tell the difference in 1 4-hour trip my back was fine. The same trip in my S class I will constantly be trying to push myself up to relieve the lower back pressure. THE S-Class SEATS SUCK. i herniated a disk because of them, now i probably need surgery :/

That’s quite sad, sorry to hear about your troubles. The human body is complex.
I have at least 9 herniated discs, have owned 82 different vehicles, and rented countless others, trying to find a driver seat that keeps me pain free. In my W222 I finally found it - seating perfection.
I hope you too find yours soon.

I drive on the regular:
Range Rover Supercharged lwb
BMW 750 (G12)
Audi A8L (D4)
Porsche 911 (997)
S560 (W222)
Here is my personal preference range (6’1, 220lbs, wide shoulders):
Best: Audi A8
Then Range Rover, Mercedes, 911 and then a long way further down, the 750. The BMW seats are by far the most uncomfortable ever, with back pain always after a long drive.
I give the S seats a 6.5/10. Can never find the perfect position. Planning on ordering a new S580 (alas, no European Delivery this time since the program has been cancelled as of 11/1) and I hope the seats are improved.

FWIW I had the ex.nappa leather seats in the S I had and they were softest, most comfortable seats I've ever had.........besides a Volvo S40 I had prior to being a MB loyalist.....

I also think these seats may be the most comfortable I have ever had in a car, and I've had a lot of nice cars.
I also agree the A8 and Range Rover also have very good seats, and that the seats in the 7 Series arent great.

You’ve got me beat on discs, but I’m edging you on vehicles at 91. Just curious: did you ever buy or lease different years of the same model? I’ve had 8 MB SL’s, 8 Lexus LS Sedans, 17 Corvettes and 11 Porsche 911’s. I just like getting different vehicles, especially new ones, now that I can afford them. The longest I ever kept a car was my 2004 SL500, which I had for 12 years. I loved that car and never should have sold it. Oh well.

2021S class front seats
I have been driving sclass for the the last 15 years, I always found these to be super comfortable as they should be. I bought a 2021 model and find the seats to be very poor quality and very uncomfortable. Give me back my old cat or a Audi q8

In case you weren't aware, you can go into the seat settings menu in COMAND and make a zillion adjustments to find the perfect level of comfort for yourself. Then you can save those settings using the memory function on the door.

If you have a 2021 thats not a W222, thats a W223.
8k miles in and my W222 seats are great.

Zillion, 1, oh wait, that's an O
Zillion sounds like an actual number because of its similarity to billion, million, and trillion, and it is modeled on these real numerical values. However, like its cousin jillion, zillion is an informal way to talk about a number that's enormous but indefinite. "Zillion" is not any specifically defined number.

I have to say that first time sitting in the front drivers seat of the S-Class was different, I was daily driving a 97' Infiniti Q45 which had great seats with normal amount of adjustment (up/down-back/front-lumbar up) and I sat first in the back seat of a S-Class from a car service, not the limo package ones. The last S-Class I had driven was Dad's 85' S500 and didn't have a clear memory of that. When I did some test drives I had to say they were much firmer than my Infiniti's seats (for an old car it only had 110k and seats were in great shape) and it took a little getting used to. As Dave's post mentioned, it was through the adjustments that I finally got the seats exactly where I wanted them to be and now I have to say it is the best seat ever. The infinite amount of adjustment of the lumbar system is great and sorry but no car seat is going to herniate a disk. I am behind with only L4-5 fused 20 years ago, but these are for sure the best seats of any car I have ever sat in after you make the right adjustments. That said everyone is different and I just love someone that sold a car and thinks the ****er is where his windshield wipers should be. I have only owned Nissans (84' 300ZX original owners still have it, 05' Nissan XTerra still running short of 100k, a 97' Q45 and my wife's Leaf) so I was 100% adjusted to that being the windshield wipers controls. It did take a few weeks to get used to that shifter being there a now I think it works great.

When I was younger, I thought a super cushy seat with lack of back and lateral support was more comfortable. But at my current age, a seat like that would likely have me calling my chiropractor after a 30 minute ride. Now I appreciate the somewhat firmer and yet very comfortable seats in the 3 Benzes I've owned that allow me to exit after several hours behind the wheel and feel as good as I did when I just got into the car.

Perhaps because our country has been trolled over the last 16+ months and the trolls are fully in charge and purposely trying to destroy our way of life, individual trolls have gained more confidence to say stupid sh*t and feel they can get away with it?

Seats
As per the subject.
I spent about 20 minutes in a 2018 S class today trying to find a comfy setting to overcome my worries here. I feel like there's something I can't identify pissing off my lower back. I know I have my own health issues, but I did not notice this in the 2018 LS500 or the 2019 Audi A8.
I know the bottom seat cushion sinks a fair bit because of my bony bum, but I wonder if there's anything that concerns anyone here? When I max out the lumbar setting on the S class at the lowest possible setting it helps, but I don't feel all that comfy in the seat. I'm just curious if anyone else feels that way?
