Transfer Case Fluid Change Question

W222 S550 4Matic, do we have a similar transfer case, and is this the process. I would do my Escalade every 2 to 3 years. Would be interested in any info.
Thanks!

I can't say for sure on the W222 but is suspect it is the same in principle as my W212 where the tc fluid is fed from the transmission so you don't add separate transfer case fluid.

I've been searching this to no avail. Anyone know if the W222 4Matic transfer case (2015 S550 in my case) a standalone unit when it comes to fluid? Or is it part of the transmission system? Thanks

Not standalone fluid or otherwise, incorporated into transmission see attachment.

Bumping this back up - has anyone actually serviced their 722.9 7G transfer case? Clearly there's a drain plug (23) in the above pdf, and an oil filler plug (12) in the pdf. However, the procedure only says to fill the transmission, which would prove out it's a shared unit. It seems the 9G transmission has a stand alone transfer case with its oil level tube etc, but the 7G is a shared unit.

There's a debate in the comments within this video on this topic, which I believe is a 722.9 albeit a different model.

I'm guessing while you can drain and refill a 7G transfer case, it's literally a "wash" as it mixes back in with the main unit so it's pointless? Just wondering if anyone has done this or can comment further. This is the only fluid left that I need to address, if I need to address! Thanks,
