No Gracenote
Why is it the 2017 S550 cab does not have Gracenote. All my prior E class cars had Gracenote did MB ditch it on all cars?

I have never, ever heard anyone mention Gracenote anywhere. What is it? What does it do for you? How do you use it? AND, please, if possible, use terms that an old guy can understand.

Simple answer: It's a music database. For example, if you have a mp3 and it just labeled song 2, GraceNote would identify the song and put the title and author on your screen.

Besides recognizing the artist, Gracenote on my other cars allowed me to rip CD's to the car. In other words the car had a hard drive which recorded and stored CD's after they were inserted and recorded in the CD drawer of the car. The recording feature is missing whereas my 2 prior E class sedans had that feature.

Actually CD's still sound better than streaming nonetheless my 2017 has a CD player unfortunately unlike my E class it won't record any CD's
