Badly scored rear rotors on 2018 S560

Have had the car only 6 months, but it is driven through the winter.
Noticed that one rear rotor was badly scored after just a few thousand miles, then noticed today the other rear rotor was also badly scored. Total miles under 10,000.
Seems like either a bad design allowing stones to stick between the pads and the rotors, or a defective set of pads with the rivets sticking out. Both pads still have lots of thickness to them, so not worn out.
Anyone else see this ?
Thanks.

The stability control system uses the brakes to stabilize the car.

Have you been "using" the stability control system in the ice and snow?

Mine developed grooves in the rear rotors also up 27K. Brakes needed replacing as they were just about to hit the sensors. They were still thick just grooved. Any dirt or debris will cook onto those pads and cause this. You can cut them and put MB pads. So far at 4K since it's not reoccurring. Not a big deal or uncommon.
