Another one of those E-Class vs S-Class threads

Jk
It will mostly be about the spec, if you get a fully loaded E class and small diameter wheels you will have a comfortable ride and pretty much all the extras you get in the S. It will be harder to find as the E class has kind of moved down market. A base car does not even get leather seats or acoustic dampening and is powered by the 4 cyl which is not great with that much weight.
There are only a couple of things reserved for the S class these days and the big L3 autonomy package won't be useful for years. Rear seat items are also S class exclusive but it's the rear seat.

Then I thought this might work and after having it for a month now it would have not make sense to spend over $200,000 for a car. I wish that we could have put a few more miles on it by now but we both had COVID. I spent time in the hospital with it. Now have to heal from the scaring of my lungs. I have been a long time Mercedes owner starting back in1993 with a 190. Have bought five cars from the same salesman. I have had twelve Mercedes now and still have four. My all time favorite car is my 2005 SL55 and it will stay with me until I’m gone. The S560 is a very nice ride much smoother than the E450. With the extra insulation and double panel glass it is very quiet with almost no road noise. The engine makes plenty of power for this type of car. I’m still learning how everything works. The S560 doesn’t get the attention that the Ghost or a Flying Spur get and that is a good thing as well. So far I’m very pleased with the S class. Just bought another Mercedes a 2010 C63 AMG with only 2003 miles on it and it has never been wet. It should be here next week.

E Class is more practical for daily driving than any S Class . I completely agree with you , S Class is a different world once you get behind the steering wheel or be an occupant it doesn't matter .To me , it's on par with BMW 7 Series or chassis Rolls Royce Ghost and could be even more and offers more eye catching interior as well

Here are a few pictures of the interior of our S560. The interior of the S clas is definitely on par with a Ghost of Flying Spur .
