During my 5 month national backorder ordeal with my windshield, Safelite lost my business. They kept rescheduling my appointment hoping the glass would show up but had no clue. That part I can handle but they would send me reminders for the appointment the night before and then not have the glass. They had to know they didn't have it but they wasted my time twice this way before I dumped them. Even when I showed up they didn't know they didn't have the glass until they walked out in the garage and checked.
My dealer (Mercedes of Bellevue) outsources glass replacement to a small glass repair business but they did a good job installing it and never wasted my time like Safelite. It's sad because before this i had good experiences with Safelite. The only thing the dealer did was recalibrate the rain sensor after.

Yes, it's unbelievable. I'll gladly take some good karma, but I'll be happy if this never happens again. I am avoiding a 3 mile stretch of I-80/I-35 until the construction work is complete perhaps by sometime this fall. I now drive through city streets to get to my destination.

This may vary from dealership to dealership, but does the MBA Dealer actually wor this may vary from dealership to dealership, but does BM Dealer actually place the windshield or did they just have Safelite come in to replace it ? I have a GMC truck and the dealer told me they do not replace them at the dealership, they just call Safelite and they come to the dealership and install a new one. Which you can do at your home. With all the cameras and electronics on the Mercedes windshield I thought they might use their own technicians to replace to make sure it’s properly calibrated

My MB dealer has a company called Harmon Glass (just two blocks away from the dealership) install the windshield. However, the dealer synchronizes all the electronics and tech features on the glass. I had 2 windshields (one on the 214 S550 and one on the 2019 S450) and they did a fantastic job. This will be the second one within a 5 week period of each other to be replaced on the S450.

I thought I was "lucky" at averaging one replacement windshield per year on my S Class cars over the past 20 or so years. The last one was on my '19 S63 at about the 6th month of ownership mark. Are you trying to "take over" my record with 2 replacements in 5 weeks?

Our glass cracked from a flying rock and it has distronic. We waited 2 months for a replacement and used the recommended installer that the dealer suggested. Safe lite was not suggested. It was a small shop that came to our house.
