2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
Some of the variance in price is due to geography as well. That car in Seattle is 65-70K all day. Hard to find the higher optioned models as well with the Burmester 3D and other features.

Depends where you live. In CA or other warm climate states RWD is no issue. The only car I wouldn't touch is a RWD without MBC

Is there any paticular reason you insist on 4 matic?
I live in DC area and drive my s55 amg with winter tires during winter season and experienced no issues so far.

When it comes to snow collisions, most occur when a car is trying to STOP. AWD will not save the driver but good snow tires will. Good snow tires beat AWD any day. If you're trying to drive on an unplowed road AWD does help.

I will say that 4Matic makes a big difference in both rain and snow. These are big heavy cars and AWD is noticeably better in just about every condition short of dry pavement. Snow tires are great but kind of a hassle and unless you get a ton of snow for extended periods of time, they are not worth it. In my area we have a lot of hills and there have been a few times when 4Matic got me home driving past lots of RWD cars.

Down here, the 4matic is not sought after at all and a harder sale. They usually sell for less down here. No one orders that here and they are usually traded in by snowbirds from up north. RWD AMG sport is the hot seller here. I'd never consider one, just one more maintenance item and expense for no reason.

i get that, I drove a rwd 750 sport bmw w snow tires infact a 745 and then a 750 both w snows... then i got my w221 awd and the 1st couple inches of snow the car was Fukin amazing. In the northeast not sure why you would even consider one. w222 is also a snow beast w awd. Never a 2nd thought for me when theres a few inches.

On 4matic vs RWD. While you may be able to drive it with good snow tires to me the issue is resale. If you plan to keep the car forever do what you want. The trade there is as has been said hassle of changing tires and the 4 matic will give you good grip with decent tires. The downside is the complexity / potential repairs of extra claptrap and the weight the goes with it. Having had repair issues with my 4matic I would prefer a RWD car but wouldn't buy one because what isn't in dispute is that a RWD W222 will be a harder sell in the northeast. It might not be as obvious with the S55 because the 4matic wasn't available for that car.
