Not relevant to S63 but the S550 trunk 12v outlet is not live when the ignition is off. So per CTEK and Mecedes, it cannot be used to charge the battery without modification to make it full time live.
I have a 2014 S550 W222, the trunk outlet will turn off after a while. So what is the purpose of the outlet? I ended up hardwiring the CTEK in the engine bay. Self tapping screws, one to the Positive Jumper Connection, One to Ground. Ran the wiring concealed to the area near the front headlight, there is a small round cutout. The CTEK wire has the built-in fuse, and a special Connector to extend the wire. When needed, I open the hood, pull the connector out, close the hood then connect the CTEK extension wire. Having the CTEK extension wire serves another great purpose, should one drive away with the charger still connected, the cable acts as a breakaway.... Not that I ever did that, not even twice....
I asked MB the purpose of the trunk outlet and received a non answer--to plug in a laptop or a tire air pump with the engine running! I asked why the MB supplied battery charger came with a cig plug attachment and also received a non response.
Obviously you have overcome MB engineering. I had a 2009 Aston Martin and a 2015 C7 Corvette both of which had live 12 v trunk outlets for battery tenders. Why MB could not do the necessary is beyond me.
