I get they are louder to some degree and do thump on abrupt impacts but otherwise I just don't hear or have the issues others do. They are now 4 years old and I am contemplating upgrading the rims or selling the car.

Last night on the highway doing about 75 heard a quick pop and the warning tire screen popped up. I watched tire pressure go to zero faster than I could get off exit. I will say I have never had a run flat tire go flat? So I am not sure if what occurred is normal or an issue??
I am going to try and get a picture up where you can see the inside section of the sidewall pulled off the tread portion of the tire. The belts are hanging out. I am a bit pissed because under 500 miles ago it was just at dealer for brakes and it looks fairly obvious that the inside of the tires were well worn. Funny thing if I show you pics of portion of tire you can see they still look usable and not on the wear indicators yet. The car obviously needed an alignment as you can see the insides worn. The dealer should have advised and i believe in CA they have to check tires.
Is it normal when a run flat goes that it delaminates like that? Do they destruct in order to be able to drive? I was able to drive approx 5 miles to a safe location to wait for a tow. As I was waiting I couldn't help but wonder how my $100k car didnt have a simple spare so I could be on my way.
Buying Michelin non run flats and Ill report back on ride quality difference!!!
I do have news though: The Serenity Plus is DEAD! Long live the QuietTrack, which is the new Bridgestone replacement for the Serenity Plus line. AND, believe it or not, I decided to give Costco a shot this time around and I must tell you that I was very impressed. Not only was their price about $300.00 LESS that their competition, they fill the tires with nitrogen, spin balance them and torque the lug bolts TWICE, as a safety precaution. The shop was spotless, with all modern equipment, the guys there were very friendly and they had poly bags for my used tires, which I took with me. The only downside was that it took about 1.75 hours, but I’m retired, so what do I care?
For the four 245/50 R18 tires, out the door, the price was $966.78. The old tires, which still look near new, will easily bring $200.00 on Craigslist. Now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast about 20” wheels, run flat tires and potholes, which is currently in progress.
So to everyone with run flats YES there is a big difference in ride without them. I installed Michelins MS 3'S ? or something like that.

As far as blowing out run flats the answer is YES you can. If I can get pic up you will see the entire sidewall is missing and the belts visible.
The runlets were just about useless as I had to call AAA anyway as who is going to risk ruining a $800 wheel for a $200 tow.
I was apprehensive about a car with no spare tire but then I thought back that I hadn't had to use the spare in my last six or so cars over 30 years. I've had several slow leaks from nails and screws in the treads but nothing that didn't allow me to get to a tire shop. So I hope I can keep that string going with the run flats.
I'm having a tough time imagining blow-outs. The only tire issues I've had in the past two decades are slow leaks from nails and screws. I guess California roads are not pothole ridden.
