One of the reasons we purchased this car was for some upcoming mid-long mile road trips. That said we wanted to get this roadworthy. Thanks in advance to the people on this forum that will help make this happen, ex: W221 spare tire thread(s), fun flats vs non-run flats, etc., The RR was losing approx 6lbs of air pressure a day so pulled the wheel, sprayed the tire and valve stem with soapy water and no bubbles....hmm. Thoroughly cleaned the wheel and hidden under the brake dust was a small crack on the inside of the rim. Threw the rim in the truck and landed at a local ****wheel repair shop. Rim was tig welded, balanced and we were back in business. Parts ordered. T
If those are the wheels you are getting they are replica's not OEM. OEM AMG wheels have the AMG logo imbedded in the rim, not a sticker, like the ones pictured. No judgement but you want to make sure the offset is correct and you need to get the correct lug nuts as a lot of the rep wheels have conical vs ball seat bolts. I have the 19" AMG 5 spokes and they have cracked at the edge of the barrel once causing a slow leak. If another one cracks I will probably get a rep set as well.

Thank you for pointing that out^^yes can see the current setup on are 20" AMG’s w/imbedded logo. What are the proper offsets when running staggered on these S550's ? T
proper offset of the reps is 35 which most are that will make them sit almost flush and look great. Ive run 2 sets of reps on 2 s classes and outside of normal stuff that could have and would have bent any rim they were good for me.

Good to know and Thank you for your reply...did you use the OEM lugs or ?...Seller states these wheels fit MY15 S550 among other MB model/years, has a 100% positive feedback, and great reviews. What to do....stay onboard with the recent 19" rim/tire purchase or keep the existing 20" AMG Multipspokes, use up the 20" RF's, (70-80% tread left) then purchase new 20" non-RF's when it's time. What's the collective think ? T

you will need 27mm new lugs, the old ones will be to short. You can get them on ebay for like 30.00 for all of them. While your at it ditch the stupid flower bolts and get regular 17mm. Those heads will snap off in the worst spots and any tire place u bring it to will destroy the head. Its a very poor design. I would keep the orig 20" amgs and just go non runflats.

Thanks again 1bad540 and along the lines of what I was thinking. Just e-mailed the seller and hope he hasn't shipped out the 19's. We'll see what happens. T
Ok, seller and I texted back and forth a few times tonight. He said he has not shipped the 19's yet and would refund in full. I presumed these replica's were mfr'd in the far east and he said nope...made in Germany. He stated they don't crack as easy as factory rims and are very robust...look at the reviews. I did and the reviews were stellar. Also stated the wheels come with correct length studs and centercaps. T
That helps for convenience. Im not sure why you want the 20's off. I doubt the reps are made in Germany but i have ran 2 sets and have been happy. I went from 19" to the 20". Im sure someone would happily trade you stock 19" amgs and some cash for your 20".
"take the runcraps off, the 20" on the car flow well with the design. That pic is the plus size wheel w aggresive offsets. your going to put smaller wheels its not going to look good"

Now I'm even more confusedhaha. Think I'll stay with whats on there for now. The P-Zero run flats have approx 80% tread life left so really should use them up...they ride just fine. Hopefully I'll spot an S Class with the 19" wheels/tires^^and revisit. Thanks again for the help T
Leaving Tucson late Sept on a road trip to Sante Fe, Durango, Telluride, Grand Canyon Prescott then back home...a loop covering approx 1,500 miles over 6 days. Used to drive a Ford Dually towing a 37' 5th wheel toyhauler with a M/C inside the box. Later a diesel pusher motorhome towing a p-up with a motorcycle in the bed. Wife would not drive^^setups so it was all on me.When we got to the destination(s) I would then need to drive the M/C....a lot of driving. Wife is now happy to share in the driving duties and It's gonna be great covering miles in this beauty..especially in the pass seats T

You will be going through some of the most beautiful geography in the country (IMHO) - Wolf Creek Pass east of Durango and Pagosa Springs. Great beauty and nice road to try out your new ride! Enjoy it!
HUD is nice but I would certainly not miss it if did not have it. I am 6'7" and love the room in these cars. What did you give for it?
Sorry superpop that I missed your post^^last week...paid 52k for this 120k sticker, 22,348 mile MY15, and yes at 6’3”” would have preferred HUD but not a dealbreaker when purchasing used. T
Great fun! This has been a thoroughly entertaining thread, better than the book I'm reading. Congrats, you will never see that color combo anywhere else... totally unique.
