Parking sensor issues

Last few times I used my 2017 w222 when I put the car into reverse im getting two red lines and the beeping sound from the parking sensor. There is nothing close to the car.

Guess it could be a faulty sensor however I've noticed a lot of moisture inside the car now that autumn temperatures have arrived here in Ireland.

The windscreen is covered in condensation on the inside as soon as the sun sets and the temperature drops.

Could moisture be getting into the parking sensor system some where?

Anyone seen this issue before on a w222?

Hard to imagine. The sensor is potted (hermetically sealed). I just had one replaced because a rock damaged it.

I can understand condensation on the outside of the glass, but on the inside.... Its almost as if you have water / moisture in the car.... Check the Floors and under the trunk liner just incase. Any mildew smell? Did you always have moisture on the inside? The only time I've ever had it on the inside I was still dating and well..... those days are long over...

had a good laugh at your reply "Nice Ride", my wife was sitting next to me so had to explain what you said.

Those days are long behind me also.

I checked the car today trunk liner etc and couldnt find any trace of dampness.... there is no smell either. Im thinking it could be due to lack of use as I only use the car at the weekend. The weather has changed here recently with the on set of autumn the air is damp in the evening.

I've put one of these in the car now:

Be interested to find out this week if the parking sensors have failed due to moisture at the electrical connection.... ive read this else where since.

The only other thing I can think of is if your drain to the HVAC is clogged and water is sitting in the coil box and not draining out properly. 2nd item that comes to mind is your AC is not charged properly causing it to release the water on the coil back into the car. You should not have high humidity on the inside, especially after running the AC for a few seconds.

So it was confirmed today at the dealership:

4 faulty parking senors (front bumper) due to water/moisture causing corrosion new wiring loom required also.....second trip required as parts werent in stock and the sensors need to painted to match the b bumper color.

Front bumper off again for repairs for the third time in 10 months

Obviously a design flaw here ... its gonna happen again .... same for the rear bumper too maybe!!!
