Finally solved the rear tire premature failure.

Hi all. As I have posted before my Maybach has eaten the inside sidewalls of the rear tires. I thought that adding air pressure would solve the problem but it only made the tires last longer (but still fail with a lot of tread in the center of the tire) last weekend we took the car on a trip and had another tire failure. Thankfully we found a used tire shop with a tire that would fit to get us home.

Fast forward to this morning. I had ordered the adjustable camber links and I ended up putting them on the car. Took some time since the inner bolts for the camber links dont have clearance to be removed unless you lower the rear suspension/ differential cradle. This turned out to be easy by simply loosening two bolts that hold the cradle up on one side at a time to gain access to the bolts.

I took the car to the alignment shop and briefed them that I no longer wanted the inside of my tires eaten up.

The printout says rear camber specs are Left -2.36 to -1.36 Degrees and Left -2.36 to -1.36.The settings he set my camber at is Left -.0,87 and right -0.83 Degrees.

Attached is a picture of the new adjustable linkage installed on the passenger side. They were approaching $300 on ebay but dam they make it so you can adjust camber on the car.

More than 1 degree negative camber seems like a lot to me, you should see better tire wear with your new setting.

Chassis I certainly hope so. Getting tired of having tires fail on me 1000 miles from home.............. Husband is still angry with the car and at times says he wants to sell it. Mind you I said two years ago we should get these adjustable links but hubby did not listen to wife. Finally he did.........
