2014 vs 2015 backup camera quality

Hi all. Hoping someone is able to shed some light on my question. We just picked up our 2015 s550 yesterday and can't help but notice the backup camera resolution seems to be lacking a bit from the 2014 s550 we are coming from. The 2014 seems to be of better resolution. I've attached pics. We have adjusted the brightness and still doesn't improve.

Also, is there a way to remove the 360 split screen and just have the backup camera take up the whole screen WITHOUT having to go through the steps of getting to that option? We would prefer the backup camera to always show without the roof/bird eye view when put in reverse.

Pics below for reference. We cleaned the 2015 camera before taking the pic.

Does your 2015 have Splitview option perhaps ? If so that might explain it - I believe it effectively halves the horizontal resolution of the screen, which was not great to begin with on the 2014-2017 cars. When I was shopping for a 2015 C217 I specifically excluded cars that had Splitview for this reason. And Video-in-Motion is vastly better (driver can see) and maintains full screen resolution.

Spiltview barely deducts any resolution. When compared, you cannot notice. It was bad for the W221 not W222. Rare option for W222. OP, I cannot say as I have no other one to compare but I find my 2015 to be ok in quality. I would assume 2014-2017 would be the same.

Looks like you have an issue with the 2015 camera. I have a 2015 and the picture quality looks more like the 2014 pic you have posted.

Mine looks like OP and I have always said my G550 same year had better quality. Actually for some odd reason everything was better from the navigation to ? using my phone. I have so many disconnects when trying to stream it drives me nuts. Nav also just worked so much easier and better.

I also hate the double line at the turn when parallel parking.

My '16 750I blew the MB out of the water with camera quality.
