Rami what do they call your Warranty. Mine is Extended Limited warranty and the link above here shows what is covered, and was your car a CPO? Crazy that’s all yours covers

 

My car was a CPO that got recently expired at 70K miles. So now on something called "MECHANICAL REPAIR SERVICE CONTRACT" for the "Powertrain plan", again it has been around 1 month out of 36 months total and I have the chance to cancel it at anytime for a refund that equals the percentage of remaining months (95% now)

 

CANCEL. That coverage sucks. Get your 95% back.

 

I guess I should have attached a screenshot of the coverage from the beginning in my original post but I though I was clear when I said it covers powertrain only (engine, transmission and front/read drive components). I wish I included it before to get feedback from everyone.

Anyway it's clear to me that this coverage sucks and this is exactly why I started this thread. I guess I should either pay $8K for a full warranty now or just forget it and move without a warranty (which I believe is okay for these cars).

 

Rami mine is called a CPO limited extended warranty. But can only get 2 years as stated. I wasn’t giving no other option. Maybe they sold you wrong plan. I would investigate that with dealer that sold to you , maybe it’s a easy switch. I hate to see people get hosed by dealers this would be a good What warranty to get when you buy a CPO car.

@FASTTRIP I think you misunderstood me. My car is not a CPO, I purchased my car long time ago and the warranty expired. This Powertrain limited warranty that I just purchased few weeks ago (which is refundable) is different that CPO extended warranty.
My car currently has around 74K miles so MB won't give me a CPO warranty at this point of time, as you know, CPO is given to cars with less than 70K (or 75K maybe) miles only

As I mentioned, my original 4year/50K miles has expired long time ago! and I've already got an passed another 20K miles warranty after the 50K miled and today I have around 74K miles so few weeks ago I got this limited extended warranty that I referenced in my comments earlier which am not happy with and think i should just cancel it maybe and live without it...

 

Vague at best and not worth it. If the exact part is NOT listed on the CPO Extended Warrantee, it is NOT covered. Thousands of parts can and do fail, again, if it is not listed in Black and White, it is NOT covered and you are out.

 

True, that's what I experienced, they list vague and generic language on the website, but once you sign the contract they hand you a list of specific parts that are only covered (just like the photo I attached in my comment) beside many others that are not covered too.

Update: finally I made the decision and sent a notice to my salesman telling him that am cancelling the service contract as of today and requested a refund. I felt that this extended limited warranty wasn't worth it at all if since it was not the same as CPO warranty. I guess after 75K miles now, it's time to take care of the car, do regular maintenance and hope for the best. It should run for many many more miles without major issues if I maintain it with regular services, garaged, and reasonable driving habits.

In anyway, read the entire post before you post stupid comments like you, my warranty didn't cover anything, it only covered certain parts that won't normally break while other parts that will normally brake are not covered.

Do you have warranty and did they deny any Part on your car? that’s what I was trying to see, from what I’ve seen MB seems to be dealer choice from what is covered., I did my homework ,but trying to find someone that’s been denied, so far I haven’t, the only one was a tuned car, these cars are like hot Potatoes when they are out of warranty, I agree something is gonna break , but what. And there is always the option of dealer discounting something that breaks if not covered. RAMI that MB preferred car warranty company is Zurich and they are MB preferred , I only have 40 k miles on my car so I may never get to use my 2 year from what I see with others cars here and will trust what I have.

 

Steering linkage, $690- not covered. Rear Driveshaft bearing, $2,600- not covered, Headlamp Ballast not covered, LED door handle light $425- not covered....
Again, if the exact part is not listed on the sheet, it is NOT covered.

 

That’s almost what I paid for warranty , 3600 . did they cover anything that broke? Thanks for sharing. I had a CPO item denied by one dealer the SIRUS module but then covered by other. I feel dealers are the ones that make or break these warranty’s. But gonna look into different options while I’m still in CPO. Thank you..

 

As a source, check local Credit Unions. CU offer waranty plans to thier members and have endlessly been thru the vetting process for membership protection.

UPDATE:
Hello everyone, here is a quick update... I talked to the dealership and gave them two options:
Option 1: requested a better coverage on the vehicle that what I have now even at higher cost. 2.
Option 2: if (1) is not possible, I'd like to cancel and get the current 90-95% refund .

Part of their response said that unfortunately Mercedes do not offer any higher levels of coverage for the vehicle based on the mileage (70k miles is the cutoff). I responded by signing the cancellation form. I am going to look for alternatives now based on the recommendations above and will keep you posted.

I'd get my money back. That is not as good as a CPO warranty.

Oh... my dealer told me that MB changed the rules on the CPO warranty in 2016. If you purchase an additional 2 years (total 3 years) on a CPO warranty, the amount you pay is FULLY REFUNDABLE (minus any warranty work/costs) long as you ask for the refund before the 3 years expires. If your car does not need any additional repairs, you are entitled to the entire cost of the extension as long as you call before the end of the extended 2nd year. If you only incur 1000 dollars in repair expenses, then you get the balance returned to you when you ask for your refund. It's written down for me. The CPO is a no-lose scenario as long as you don't forget to ask for your money back.

Here is the Royal Ultimate exclusionary plan (ULTIMATE COVERAGE PLAN), which provides coverage to virtually all mechanical and electrical parts of your vehicle, unless it is specifically listed as excluded.

 

First of all, you have great taste in cars. I too have a 2012 911 Turbo S and love it.

Also, I'd roll the dice if I were you and just wing it without any warranty at this point. Knowing these cars, nothing will go wrong until 100,100 miles, just when your warranty runs out and then it will cost $8500 to fix! I'd forget it, bank the money and rock it out, man! Good luck.

Regarding warranty, that's what I was thinking too!!! I could be wrong, but I think these insurance companies know the real risk and they know that this deal has low risk and likelihood that total cost would exceed 8,500 is lower than probability that it will cost more than 8,500.... for that reason, I think I would gamble and take that risk by myself... what's the worst thing, end up with $8K or $10K service? at least I'd pay it at that time for service but if it doesn't happen then it's all good..... Some other members got me thinking twice about this warranty issue, honestly for $8K i don't think it worth it and I like to spend my money wisely even if I have it.... if it was $3-4K I would have bought it
