When to check oil level
Hi Guys
I got a message while driving saying oil level low check at next fuelling, i checked oil 10 minutes after parking car and it was at minimum, i rechecked this morning while car was cold and it shows its full
When is the best time to check for a accurate reading, when engine is warm or cold

On Porsche’s with dry sump you can’t check the oil till it’s 180 degrees , there is no dipstick , I think warm is better myself but lots of people say cold. So this should be a interesting topic. Sorry wouldn’t want to give you wrong info, just something to throw in to question.

For the S Class you get the car up to normal operating temperature and shut the car off. Wait 5 minutes and then check the oil level. This is direct from the manual. If all else fails read the owners manual.

Yeah very confusing, when cold the dipstick shows full, when hot after sitting for 5-10 minutes its at minimum
I guess ill have to top it off as the last oil change was done 15000 kms ago, are these engines known to eat oil

They still hold 8-9 quarts? Yeah, it'll be okay unless it's gushing oil somewhere
