OEM Rim size and tires 19 vs 20

Good day !

I'm new to Mercedes , it is my first one ! W222 - 2015y S500 (USA 550) with 4MATIC and AMG package which gave me the 19 inch 5 twin spoke wheel with Prelli winter Runflat 245/45 front and rear . I have the opportunity to leave those used 19 inch tires and wheels (they need some recondition cost of 450 USD) vs 20 inch 10 spoken forged wheels with high sheen (looks perfect) with Continental ContiWinterContact TS830P MO, size front: 255/40R20 101V MS+ and rear 285/35R20 104V M+S (very good condtion) . - so the 20 inch according to Benz are dedicated as winter tires for S63 4matic. Question is how much risky for the drive system will be is i exchange them on my S500 4matic which I use as daily car. I would have to pay to make the deal 2500 USD which is a good price in Poland.

What you though is worth it or may be to risky for the drive system as there is possibility that there is a difference between S63 4matic and s500-4matic ?

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
You will be fine going from 19" to 20" wheels. With 4matic the big concern is rolling diameter. As long as the rolling diameter is within 3% front to rear you will be fine. Be aware that 20" wheels require a skinnier tire which means a harsher ride and you are more prone to wheel damage as there is not as much rubber between your wheel and the hard stuff. I have contemplated going to 20" wheels but never have as the risk of tire and wheel damage is higher and with RFT's I do not want to risk a major problem with no spare readily available.

The most important thing with the AWD drivetrain is that the front and rear wheels/tires are matched for size. So you won't have problem if you swap out all four wheels/tires. I own the 19" AMG 5 spoke wheels, and there is no way I would switch to the 20". And if the fronts and rears are not identical, i definitely would not swap. For a 4-matic transmission, all four wheels/tires should be matched.

Thanks for all the responses.

@superpop - I have no issue to call the tow truck - since will be paid by MB , I have spoken as well with service and they will not charge back if the car will not be equipped with runflat as per car spec. On the other had this is the last season for Pirelli runflat for sure .
another point: what the MB recommend as well is 245/40 R20 and 275/35 R20 for S5004matic ….vs 255/40 R20 , 285/35/ R20 S634MATIC so going with s63 4MATIC set up I will actually have more rubber on my rim.

@bkdc - I would fully agreed with you however why then those 20inch Continental are to original recommended tires for S63 4 matic ...according to my manual for w222 -year 2015

I more concern about the drivetrain AWD all 4matic is difference between S63-4MATIC and S500 4-MATIC on construction/design side , that may cause a issue to my drivetrain. The offer is still open.
