2019 rough transmission

I recently purchased a 2019 S560. The transmission shifts very rough and downshifts are extreme, as if the car is actually a manual being downshifted at high RPM. Also, the car idles high for about the first 10-15 minutes after starting which seems to exacerbate the problem. I have taken it to the dealer twice and they say there is nothing they can do. I can't believe a car at this price point that is supposed to be silky smooth is so rough. My 2016 S550 was not like this at all. Has anyone else had this problem?

The 9G should be smooth as glass, find another service dept if yours is not helpful or get the MB rep involved. Did they at least reset the adaptives for you? Could be the previous driver was paddle happy.

As RJC said dealer can do a factory reset of the transmission, if not drive about 1500 miles it will learn your driving style.

On the E, you can put the vehicle more than 3k RPM and use the paddle shifters to upshift and downshift - yeah, it'll be hard depending on the speed. Do it a couple of times and it should soft reset the adaptations (the floor engineer taught me this). Then the vehicle will learn your driving style. Else, what RJC said, they should hard reset the adaptations for you.
