Was going to change spark plugs

Hi all today I was going to change the spark plugs on the Maybach because they are the only scheduled maintenance I have deferred (at 50000 mi). The car now has 72000 miles so I decided to change them. Before I brought new plugs I decided to remove some of them and inspect. To my surprise the plugs look good. The electrode is not eroded and still has the factory gap of .027. I ended up deferring again to 100000 miles. Here are some pics. Sorry about pics being sideways. I did this on my iPad and can’t figure out how to rotate them here.

I love seeing grease on Katie22's blue nails. If it were me, I'd swap them out because it is such a PITA to unhook the tight electrical connector of the ignition coil, and the cost is in the labor to get there. When I first removed a W222 ignition coil, I thought to myself about how much tighter and higher quality the engine bay components are than in a BMW.

Umm on my 16 v12 each cylinder has its OWN coil. Two bolts hold each one on. I did not find it difficult to remove them. Now the older coil that covers all cylinders on a bank that I hear is a nightmare.

PS this girl does occasionally get dirty.

You can have micro cracks in the porcelain insulation not readily seen. After going through all that work I would have changed them out no matter how good they looked. Your mileage may vary!

I suppose I could have micro cracks in my toilet too but I’ll keep using it.

ps it was not hard o get them out and I only checked TWO cylinders. If I had removed all the plugs I would have certainly changed them.

I know. I just didn’t feel like spending 269 dollars on plugs to replace what is in good order even having original gap distances.
