Can you put a non facelift C217 wheel on a non facelift W222? Still retain heat, vibrate, and distronic if both cars had those features?
YES! I'm in the process of doing that very same conversion. While I love the interior of my 2016 W222, I have never liked the standard 2 spoke steering wheel in the sedan. It's a handsome product, but the sport and AMG 3 spoke steering wheel for 2014-2017 models is far more attractive.
I began by searching the Mercedes parts catalog for the 3-spoke wheel that had the same color and features of my 2 spoke. When I had the correct part number, I searched Ebay and found one being sold at a decent price. Now I'm just trying to procure the correct airbag. There are a lot of "rebuilt" and counterfeit airbags on the market, so it hasn't been easy.
You can also convert to the 2018-present steering wheel. I considered this route, but the process is for more invasive than what I am prepared to do.
