2014 S550
Power Steering groan
Took my 14 S550 in today for a power steering groan. Sounds just like being low on power steering fluid but I assumed since it has electric assist that it didn't have fluid.. Now I'm reading that might not be the case.
Does the electric assist system use some type of fluid? If so I assume it's got a leak and is low..

18 AMG GTC and 22 F150 Limited. Past owner 16 Maybach, 17 Brabus Smartcar, 06 Ford E150, and 22 G70
So my 16 Maybach did have to have the ABC pump replaced which is also the power steering pump. It would make strange groaning noises. Cost me $3000 such is life.

Revised for benefit of membership. The guide tube may have detached from the lower steering shaft see attachments.
