Mercedes wants to buy back my 3mth old 2020 S560

So if you’ve been following my posts. You know that I’ve had a host of problems with my 2020 S560 since the day I took delivery 3 months ago. A whining noise in the back over 50mph to where they replaced the rear differential twice. I’ve also been having very hard downshifting in sport mode from 3-2 to where they’ve adapted the transmission several times and also replaced the valve body and axle shaft. All in 3 months with less then 2500 miles on the car. The car has been in the shop a total of 32 days since I purchased it 5/8/20

While many people would love a buyback, I simply want Mercedes to swap out the car and give me another S560 same equipment and color. I negotiated a hell of a deal and do not want to go through the hassle of finding another car, negotiating price, credit approval, etc etc.

Has anyone had experience with this? The car is leased through MB Financial and they’re offering me this without getting a lawyer involved, even though I’m prepared to do so. Is it realistic to request a swap with another new vehicle and they do a vin substitution on the lease contract etc etc? It also prevents Mercedes from marking my existing car as a Lemon.

Happy to hear thoughts.

Thanks

its not how it works. Work with the dealer to get the same deal again. The VIN is locked in on your loan. They won’t swap.

2023 GLE450, 2021 E350 / Used to drive: 2019 E300, 2021 + 2020 GLE350, 2019 E450 Wagon(s), 2017 E300
I think take the buyback and run - I did not get the same offer for my problematic 2019 E450 wagon (to be fair, my issues did not rise to the same level...) I received cash trade assistance that lessened the bath I took.

Grab to buyback - I am not sure your in a worse spot in terms of leverage on a new unit - I agree, inventory isn't super plentiful, but every path other than a simple buyback is longer and more complex and may not be economically better.

Mine wasn't marked as a lemon either - I feel for the next person that buys it, but that's between them and the dealer, has nothing to do with me.

You should be able to negotiate a better deal. There is a loyalty offer that you will qualify for now that you have an existing loan with mbfs. This offer is valid up to 60 days after terminating a mbfs loan as well.

Do you have any details on the “loyalty” program?

If you have an existing MBFS loan or have terminated an MBFS loan within the last 60 days and are getting into another loan with MBFS, you will qualify for an additional rebate. The amount varies depending on model. PM me if you need any additional details.

Make sure to charge for ALL options, take 'em to the cleaners

(that's what they tell salesmen in meetings)
