2015 W222 Sunroof issues. Please Help.

I have a 2015 S550 and when I try to open the sunroof it opens slightly on driver side only and then closes itself back up. The passenger side of the sunroof never goes up. I imagine the sunroof is closing itself back up to avoid breaking the glass. See pic attached.

Any idea why or what could be causing this? I'm sure its not going to be cheap to fix...lol

Any help would be appreciated before I head to Dealership.

Roland

Sunroof only goes up on driver side. Passenger side does not move. Can't open.

Slide shoe may need replacement (I believe $100 part), worst case dealer recommends frame replacement.

Do you have any tips on taking the car apart to access that part? I just want to open it up to look and see if it is a broken part.

What sucks is this part may have broken under warranty but we never checked

Have you tried assisting it with a slight push upwards on the passenger side as the mechanism in operation? Just so you can look at it better?

I have. I'm scared to push it harder cause I don't want it to break and be stuck open. It went up a tiny bit but no where near enough for me to see inside (maybe 1/2 cm)

I did look at that. Unfortunately I can't even open it up enough to see the rails so I was wondering how I could access it another way.

If you can find a sunroof place that is the best vs. dealer or regualr indy mechanic. Not sure where you live but back in my LA days there were several shops that only worked on sunroof and they fixed several of my cars for much less and they know exactly how to quickly repair. See if you can find one near you.

I didn't end up fixing it cause we don't use the sunroof. I asked a couple indy shops and they wanted an hour of labor to look at it, which makes sense but wasn't worth it to me.
