Non-availability of accessories

So, have found a couple of 2020 S560 4Matic vehicles I like. Torn between obsidian and magnetite black though.Problem: I prefer 20” AMG multi-spoke wheels and spoiler. Neither vehicle has these options . Dealership tells me MB stopped making spoiler in Aug ‘20 and wheels are ~$1k each even though they are $750/set on build sheet. The spoiler statement is sort of curious considering an owner would need to replace the spoiler if rear-ended and spoiler is damaged. This will be my 1st Benz so I want what I want is this case. Any advice?

Theres plenty of cars like this one but they are rear wheel drive as most of the S class cars you're gonna find in you're area are RWD. You may have to look outside your area in a colder climate area for the AWD car you are looking for unless AWD is not all that important important to you. There are plenty of cars like this one in different colors with the options you were talking about in your area.https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...Type=spotlight

Many thx 2012 merc amg. Yeah. You are correct but I really want AWD though. Do plan to keep the car for while and don’t plan on staying in Cali beyond 2/3 more years. Actually, one one the cars is out of state, New York. I had a really good deal on in NewMex but couldn’t sell my wife on the white exterior and black/brown interior.

The wheels are going to be expensive. You pay very little on the sticker but after the fact they are always way more expensive. There are some people here that have 20s and want the smaller wheels, you might be able to make a swap...

Spoiler should be no problem aftermarket.

Not to discourage you, but you might poke around and read about the downsides of 20" wheels on the W222 before investing $$$ in them. You might love the look, but they come with a lot of downsides in terms of ride quality, wheel fractures, and sidewall bubbles / blowouts.

You can get a spoiler pre-painted for around $180 (JB speed on this forum has it available) . It takes 15 minutes to install.

100%. I've become a huge proponent of smaller wheels/tires on luxury cars. Never again.

Me too, but it seems to be a lesson you need to learn yourself.

I'm one of the people planning to replace my 20s with smaller wheels and my tires have a decent amount of tread, so an easy bolt-on ... if you'd like to discuss a deal on them, shoot me a PM

PatentLawyer yeah. Do love the look but took your advice and did a little poking. Reviews are mixed so not sure I want to learn a lesson that has been learned by others already. Appreciate your feedback.

emilner, thx. I checked out JBspeed. Will likely pull the trigger once I take delivery. Looks pretty simple like you stated.

For me a car with the 19s was harder to find than one with the 20s, and it was a requirement for me.

But wouldn't it have been easier to find the car you want and then change the wheels - buy 19 inchers and sell the 20 inchers?

That would have been really expensive, and complicated. Easier to just find a car on a lot with the 19s

If I've convinced one person not to put 20s on their S-Class, my work is done here.

This reminds me of the time that I took the plunge and got an S63 - it looked so mean! I thought I was a real superstar until I was told my front axle brake job was $3000.00! We all learn but nothing beats first-hand knowledge.

I have a 2015 s500 ( UK equivalent to USA s550 ). I found out through these forums about the cost difference to the AMG 63 brake maintenance costs, wow what a difference ! as much as I would have loved an AMG S63 I am afraid the running repair and replacement costs pushed it way past my future costs, might manage it if it was my only car but I did need to factor in my other car costs as well.
