Rotor Pads

When I bought this CPO 2018 S560 I replaced the rotors and pads with genuine Mercedes parts. I did so as I was getting shakes as I braked.
Here it is and the shakes are back. I did a 1600 miles run and the shakes are back. The first 1500 miles were smooth but now they shake like before. Keep in mind that the rotors were replaced just two weeks ago .
Is there a bulletin on these brakes?

Did you do the work yourself?

Did you complete the bedding procedure?

The shaking you feel is almost certainly from not properly bedding your new pads.

I’ve done my brakes for the last 40 years and never had such issues. As far as your question regarding bedding I had done so before this highway trip.

I did the work. I’ve been doing the brakes on all my cars for the last 40 years. Never had this issue.

As suggestions, new rotors can be warped. Have them checked for runout. Out of balance wheels can also cause this. Good luck.

rotors are not warped.

Ck your driving habits during that last 100 miles. Do you press hard on your brakes after a hot run? Wash car and not drive afterwards? Did you use a torque wrench and an alternative pattern for lug nuts?

The sell pads to hook in a drill t clean your rotors. Do so and see if pulse is alleviated. Find a shop that cuts rotors on car vs off. Use a more aggressive pad to clean up rotors.

The concept of a rotor warping is an old wise tale. Rotors do not warp.

Pad material builds up in places on the rotor if the brakes are not bedded fully, or driving habits cause spotty build up. Then, over time, rotors can wear unevenly.

This is what most often causes shaking while braking (otherwise called warped rotors).

Interesting. I certainly have experienced pad material adhering to the rotors after a weekend track session that eventually cleaned up after driving. But they would also tell you not to apply your emergency brake after a track session. I thought the reason would be to prevent rotor warping.
