Part number for rotor screw?

For some reason there is some confusion (or at least I’m confused) about the correct screw for retaining the brake rotor to the hub on my 2016 S550 4matic with the sport package. I’m assuming they’re probably all the same, but on some sites I get the message “This part will not fit your 2016 S550” or words to that effect. I think the part number is 2204210171. Can someone confirm this? Thanks in advance.

And while we’re at it, has anyone experienced difficulty in removing these screws when replacing the rotors? If so, what method seems to be successful?

Your part number is A2204210171

If they are sticking take a punch or the torx bit your using. install the bit or punch over the screw and wack it with a hammer a few times to break the corrosion. OR use an impact wrench which would be doing a similar thing.

When reinstalling a very light coat of anti seize will help the next time the screw is removed.

And, suggest you purchase your parts from FCP, Lifetime Warrantee on ANYTHING you purchase from them. Want to replace Rotors the same time you do pads, just return them and get a free set as long as you purchased from them from the start.

I’m as big a fan of FCP as anyone, but in this case I don’t think they’re what I need. Their price for the four rotors for my car is roughly $840.00, and I found a price on genuine MB parts for $597 for the set. These are parts that will last me almost 50,000 miles, and by that time I will be rid of this car, so I’ll take my $243 in savings and apply it towards parts from FCP that I will replace more often, like wiper blades. But thanks for the suggestions

Also, remember, they will replace the parts for ANY reason. If you replace your Pads every 2 years, you can replace the Rotors with them, even if they are within spec. FCP does this marketing, since it does work for them. Want to replace wipers every year, no problem, just send them back for a new set, no questions asked.... I do see your point.... For anyone holding onto the car, by part once that they stock, free from then on including USED OIL... So Free Filters and Oil, just ask them.
