Ha! Front console door retracted and vanished.

Actually had a short water bottle in the cup holder and the bottle and retracting door "jammed". Once freed up, the door disappeared into the console and is not in sight.

Recovery procedure? This is a joke compared to you guys with trans issues. Sorry.

What about retrieving the rear cover? Mine has disappeared down into the console somewhere, is there a method for fishing it out?

Front console right?

Check Konigstiger's diagrams. Note the 34 plastic tab shown at front of console. Not shown in the diagram are 2 at the rear opening one each corner. The tab is like a latch...I think.

i pressed down on passenger side tab till it popped or broke. It popped and the door emerged. Works like new.

Good luck.

UPDATE:

i rechecked what I am calling rear latches and they are not latches. They are "tabs" attached to the hiding door front edge. By pushing down on the passenger side tab, it freed my door.

Good luck
