What is this device on my trunk?
Hi everyone,

I noticed I have this... contraption at the top of my trunk and I am not sure what it is and what it's supposed to do. Does anyone have the slightest?


Front view from the trunk. Barely 20cm wide


Bottom view


Rear view


Just before I posted this, I searched for the code displayed in the last photo and it says it's a TV tuner (which is completely useless to me, but I digress). Is it indeed that? If so, any idea what this metal slot (?) in the front could be? Thanks!

I assume you have a European car as those are not legal in the US.

I'm in Switzerland and this was built in Germany, indeed. But why are TV Tuners (if that's what it is indeed) in the US?

Still, that wouldn't make them automatically illegal, would it?

Regardless, does anyone know if this has any kind of expandability (that metallic slot-like thing looks like it can accept add-ons).
