Took my 2015 S550 4Matic on a 150 mile drive and after about 1 hour, the air pressure coming out of the A/C vents dropped a lot. Even on LO and the fan turned to 7, it just wasn't blowing or cooling properly. We could hear the A/C blowing hard, but could not find anywhere in the cabin where it was coming out.
When I got home I took a look around and found the air was blowing cold and powerful out of the vent underneath the windshield on the passenger side. See short video and photo below.
The next morning I took it to the dealership and of course it was working properly. They are unable to replicate this issue.
Have any of you experienced this and know what the issue is so I can point the dealer in the right direction?
I appreciate the replies. The car is with the dealer currently. I assume they’re checking for fault codes and the cabin filter. They did find a small leak in one of the A/C hoses and are replacing that, but they are not able to repilcate the issue.
You know how these things work, I’ll take the car home and the next day the issue will occur again. So I like to help the dealer figure it out.
Problem is due to the leak and your car is lost R134A, once R134A is at low level then it will build up ice on evaporator when you are on the long journey, once the ice build up completely evaporator housing then it will block the air from AC fan to air vent even AC fan running hard.
