I Had 24s on my S580. One slightly bent rim. Never any blowouts. You just have to be extra careful.

Id stick with you 20''s i mean the ride already sucks on AMG 20''s . Plus the motor mounts on the car are already know to give out, with the harsh ride mortar mounts will be cashed in no time. If you only ride 22'' for summer and do low miles maybe. Sunday driver on nice clean roads, its your ride so just got weight the pros on cons.
