I can get you a quote and example contract on a Complete Manufactures Extension policy by Freedom Warranty, comparable coverage to the original warranty, without the $$$ the dealer ads on top. Repairs accepted at all Mercedes-Benz dealers and licensed independents`in North America. Text or call me at (602) 909-9216 or email me at tgibson@highline-autos.com
From personal experience, S-Class policies are the most common policy to pay out more than they cost.

For the record, I just looked into this for my 2015 S550 4Matic. It has a tick under 60k miles at this time.
A Fidelity Platinum for 5 years / 60k (additional) miles is around $11k with a $500 deductible. Almost $14k with a $250 deducible. The Fidelity Gold (which is a "stated" and NOT "exclusionary" policy, but still a good one) is about $6500/$8100 for the same.
I decided it was not in my best interest.

ELW's are a suckers bet. I have had my 2015 since 2017 and the warranty expired in 2018. In that time I have replaced one strut at a cost of around 450 bucks for the part. Did the swap myself as it was very simple to do. I have 50K on my odometer now and other than the strut it has been worry free. Save your money.

Just as a point of reference, when I bought my 15 S550 in a private transaction in 2019 it had 6,200 miles. I bought a Fidelity Platinum 8yr/80k additional miles warranty for $4k (I will drive the vehicle 6,000-8,000 miles annually).
I found that you can buy a Fidelity warranty from any dealer, including non MB dealers, that sell them, so you have room for negotiation. The local MB dealer had the best price, lower than the two dealers mentioned in the forums for extended warranties. I've already used it for about $2k of repairs, with the dealer processing the claim.

TNS550, could you share the dealer who gave you that coverage? Also, are the airmatic struts covered on your plan? I purchased a 2014 S550 with 21k on it yesterday and am shopping for a warranty. Thank you

As to your question, I doubt the struts would be covered. Here is section on specific parts not covered, principally maintenance type items:
UNDER PLATINUM COVERAGE, ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS: BRAKE LININGS, BRAKE DRUMS AND ROTORS, DISC BRAKE
PADS, STANDARD MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH FRICTION DISC, PRESSURE PLATE, PILOT BEARING, THROW-OUT BEARING
AND ARM, AIR BAGS, SOLAR POWERED DEVICES, GLASS, LENSES, SEALED BEAMS, BODY PARTS AND/OR PANELS, WEATHER
STRIPPING, TRIM, MOLDINGS, LOCK CYLINDERS, TIRES, WHEELS, ALL BATTERIES EXCEPT HYBRID/EV/HYDROGEN HIGH VOLTAGE
BATTERIES AS LISTED UNDER GOLD, LIGHT BULBS, UPHOLSTERY, PAINT, BRIGHT METAL, FREEZE PLUGS, FILTERS, HEATER AND
RADIATOR HOSES, EXHAUST SYSTEM, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, SHOCK ABSORBERS, WORK SUCH AS FRONT-END ALIGNMENT
OR WHEEL BALANCING (EXCEPT WHEN REQUIRED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN), SAFETY RESTRAINT
SYSTEMS, AUDIO/SECURITY OR OTHER SYSTEMS NOT FACTORY INSTALLED, OR VINYL AND CONVERTIBLE TOPS;

I purchased my car in December with 30k miles. I purchased Total Exclusionary Coverage through Endurance that covers the car until Jan, 2028 or 131k miles for $4100 with $100 deductible. It's already paid out over $2500 on a claim back in March. If you're interested in the coverage, you can reach them at 866-432-4443. And remember that the cost is negotiable. I got my cost down almost $1k. DO NOT buy anything other than Total Exclusionary Coverage as all other policies are named component. Starting mileage will definitely affect the cost of coverage. And buying more years and miles makes the most sense since it doesn't cost much more to beef up the miles and years. The policy is transferable to the next owner, which definitely will add extra value to the car.

Never mind the cheap shot from the other guy trying to sell warranty coverage. I checked his plans and they were SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive for crappier coverage. Get the plan I got (Endurance sells their own plus lots of other policies) and you'll be fine.
95% of complaints about auto warranties come from folks who never read or comprehended the policy that they purchased. The components that they thought were covered never were or the people never did the regular maintenance as per the owner's manual or kept receipts for the work. Never rely on the small brochure than the dealer gives you about coverage. Always get a copy of the sample policy and read it cover to cover.

I ended up calling a MB dealer out in Wisconsin looking for a contact that was posted in one of the threads here. That woman is no longer working with that dealer, but they connected me with the Finance Manager.
He ended up giving me a warranty that is endorsed by Porsche (they sell MB and Porsche). I must have read over 15 contracts that day and his by far was the least complex. The exclusionary verbiage was not extensive. The thing that I really liked is in the exclusions they list the air bags as not being covered, but in parenthesis they write that they are not referring to the suspension airbags. As far as the contract states, they are not excluded. None of the suspension is. The company is Safe Guard. I called their office 3 different times that day and was connected with a person in under 60 seconds.
My car is a 2014 S550 with about 21k miles on it. I got a 4yr/48k mile exclusionary policy with a $250 deductible for about $3,200. If you check the Porsche website and look at their extended warranties, you will see in the fine print that Safe Guard underwrites for them. Rafael is the man! I would recommend you talk to him if you are looking for an extended warranty. Here is his number 262-821-5000

It was fine. They paid the average labor rate in the area, which was about $25 less than what my dealer charges per hour. The dealer lowered their rate so the difference was only about $10/hr. The warranty paid for my loaner vehicle too.

-It is not more expensive for crappier coverage.
-Freedom is more expensive, but less than industry average. But there is a certain price to pay for such levels of coverage. In the 3's is almost too low.
-Like a lot of Endurance complaints on BBB, if it is too good to be true, then it probably is.
I'd recommend many other competitors before recommending Endurance, that is all I'm saying.

Hardly a cheap shot, but I too have seen both plans, Facts are:

Was my policy too good to be true? Not from my experience thus far.

What I remember about the sample policy that you sent to me is that the list of exclusions was so incredibly large that it may as well have been a named component policy and that yours has a lifetime max payout cap of $20k. My payout cap is the lesser of price I paid for the car, including taxes or good condition retail value at purchase. So about 2.5x the cap of your Freedom policy. And that lesser policy that you were selling would have been about $5k vs the $4100 I paid.

I found this to be true as well. Not all exclusionary policies are created equal; some are worse than named coverage policies.

Have to be careful with AutoPom, who are just the brokers for the third parties. If there's a problem, you would have to deal with the 3rd parties and not with the Autopom. It's no different than when you go through a broker to have your car transported and in case of a claim, the broker will direct you to the company who transported your car and they themselves are out.

Common confusion is the second paragraph of exclusions that did not apply to apply to the Complete Manufactures Extension coverage. I had followed up with you to answer any questions, or if you needed clarifications, never heard back.
