First Mercedes

Hey there everyone,
I'm new to the forum. My Rav4 started to cost more to fix each month and I decided it was time for a change. I was seriously looking at BMW especially the 750i and M550i. I also had been looking at Audi S8 and S7. I went to the Benz dealer in town to test out a 2017 750i but was disappointed with the horrible valve noise when we started it. The sales guy, who was new to Mercedes used car sales, walked me over to an S550 4matic 2014. I never bothered to look at these cars. Yet, I was asked to take it for a spin. When I drove it I new I was done looking. I found what I wanted and was blown away by how different and awesome

the S550 was from the 750i and Audi S7. Now I am shopping for exhaust replacements. I was wanting to hear from anyone who has upgraded the exhaust. Any tips or suggestions? I really liked the sound of the Meisterschaft GTC.
THANKS
Ed

Now that's what I'm talkin' about. Same here. 8 BMW's.... was looking for a newer 750i, didn't like it, thought... hmmm, an Audi? Nah, don't like the looks of the inside. Jaguar? Nope, I'm not 100. Mercedes E63? I love the looks. Went to look at one and saw an S63 there too. Though, too flashy, too big, a boat, would never want it but, it looks so regal and hot. I drove it and was sold. SO much nicer than the last 3 seven series I had. That was a 2008. Then got a 2012... and now a 2018, my last car ever. I plan to keep it, well... forever. My niece loves it too.

Wheels

I thought the same about the wheels. But they came with the car. I am already looking at replacing them. First I am looking at swapping the exhaust.

Your ride looks awesome. The color is perfect. My next choice will be the S63.

I have to agree, they just don’t suite the car. But you may have a hard time finding an aftermarket wheel to match the “luxury” look that will match the car; most aftermarket wheels are sporty. Maybe go with an original wheel, I imagine they’d be cheap on the used market?

Welcome!

You went from a Toyota to a S550? What an [up]grade!
How many miles are on your 550? What options?

Enjoy the ride!

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I put these wheels on my E class and really like them. https://getyourwheels.com/product/35...MaAih1EALw_wcB As far as the exhaust goes, I dunno maybe your own custom combo such as Borla mufflers cat back might work. There really are not many kit cat back systems available on these cars. You have to be careful you don't want to create a resonating sound on a luxury car such as the S550. Some have done it and were unhappy and switched back to the stocker.

the Rav4 V6 had over 250000 miles. When I got out of PA school I promised my wife the car or SUV of her choice once I started working. She worked 2 jobs while I was in school full time. She chose a 2018 X5. So I saved for awhile while trying to keep the Rav going. Soon I found I was putting more money in than what it was worth. They gave me a great trade in price. The S550 had under 75000 miles. Has massaging seats, Burmaster sound, and more. No heated steering wheel or HUD or night vision. It drives better than the 2017 750i I was testing out.

Try to get the cars service history from a mb dealer. You can learn a lot and at 75,000 mi, you need to know it’s history.

I was able to pull the history. Never had any major or minor issues. All regular service was done at Mercedes dealers. Its now due for the 80000 mile service. The only thing I havent checked is if any recalls have been done.
