Condensation in the inside of the windshield when washing the car

Hi everyone,

I washed my car yesterday (by hand but with pressurised water) and I realised that some condensation formed in the inside of the windshield, on the bottom corner on the passenger side. It's the first time I've seen this happen and I was wondering if there is a gasket or a seal that may have gone bad. The windows were closed shut prior to the wash.
The weather was a bit chilly and the water was hot, but I didn't notice anything on the driver's side. The door seals seem to be OK and I couldn't see anything on the window edges that would indicate something unusual.

Has anyone else encountered this? Should I be worried that this can cause damage in the long run? Thanks.

Condensation on the inside windshield is not a leak, but warm, humid air in the cabin condensing on the cool windshield. Was the car perhaps still warm from being driven? Residual engine heat will allow warmer air to enter the cabin even after car/HVAC is off. Plus, the HVAC intake is in front of the passenger windshield, not the driver's, so there is a short path from outside to the passenger's inside windshield.

Hey thanks for the response. I checked everything that I could and didn't find anything broken or detached. I just grew concerned because it didn't appear on the other side (or anywhere else) and I wanted to know if this is something that should be handled by the warranty.

I had the exact same thing happen last week for the first time after 2 years of washing. Just as you described. It went away but I was a bit concerned..

Among what others have already said, I think the temperature gradient is 90% of the problem.
