Has anyone else noticed that the air ionization setting switches itself off? I continuously turn it on and then randomly I will check and the box that turns the setting on is unchecked. I’m curious if there is something I’m missing about this or doing wrong?

 

Ya in all my S class cars this has aways happened, same thing with the Air freshener. Have to check it every time i drive the car.

I picked up my E400 wagon at the end of August, & I thought I was losing my mind, I'd set it and then would look again and it was off, and I didn't remember turning it off. and now I know it wasn't me!

 

Could it be settings stored with a different key or seat settings?

 

I believe it turns off if you don’t use sync setting for all zones to sync. So if passenger changes their ac setting sync turns off and ionization turns off.

 

It happened to me a lot and it was realy annoying. I did a full reset with a diag interface and now it seems to be ok.

Since I did that reset it has been more than a month and the automaticaly turned off happened only once but until the reset, it has been a few times a week. Didn't do anything different so I guess the reset helped, at least until now.
