In the Northeast, there is a supply of reasonably priced 2016-2017 S class, right about 60K or less. There are 2018 models for under 70. It is true, now is not the time to buy used though. New Sprinter vans are selling for 15K OVER MSRP at my local Sprinter dealer. My local Mercedes dealer has offered me what I paid for my 22K mile 2017 S550 in July of 2020, 60K. The car now has 36K on it. There IS a shortage of inventory but as people move more towards SUV and EV vehicles there is less demand for four-door sedans of any make.
I am near DC and have been looking for a W222 and you can find 14's for mid-high 30's all day long with about 60-80k miles There is one place in Northern VA that seems to specialize in MB, and their prices are cheaper than everywhere else. Its called Merlex. They have a 2016 for 36,995 right now with 72k on it. Only thing that worries me is the VA inspection I would be bringing car back to MD and their inspection is strict compared to VA.

FYI about Merlex, most of their cars have accident history, thats why they are so cheap. Whether you care about that or not, thats kind of their market. Friend of mine bought a 2015 W222 from Merlex. Just assume any car they sell has an accident history. His had definitely been hit in the drivers side rear.

Ahh I knew it had to be something thanks for the heads up. They are 3-5k under everyone else, and that makes sense.
I bought mine in Virginia from Select Auto Imports, good experience, great car in pristine condition, back seat headrest pillows never even used. It had 22K miles, bought January 10, 2021. A little weird flying into airport so soon after the trouble in DC, I'm ex military.....I got a good looking over!
